Sky Greens is the world’s first low-carbon, hydraulic water-driven, tropical vegetable urban vertical farm, using green urban solutions to achieve enhanced green sustainable production of safe, fresh and delicious vegetables, using minimal land, water and energy resources. Each 9m-tall tower, made of tiers of planting troughs rotating around an aluminium frame, produces five to 10 times more vegetables than conventional methods in the same land area. A water-pulley system, using rainwater collected in overhead reservoirs and using no more power than a 60W light bulb, rotates the troughs so that the plants get a uniform amount of sunlight. http://singularityhub.com/2012/11/05/towers-of-vegetables-go-up-as-singapore-builds-first-vertical-farm/ http://skygreens.appsfly.com/News+26+Events http://www.straitstimes.com/breaking-news/singapore/story/first-vertical-farm-boost-supply-local-greens-20121025
